FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does therapy help?

Participating in psychotherapy can allow you to explore ongoing problems and point you in the direction of a new solution. Clients will often resolve the impact of past traumas and abuses. The benefits you obtain will depend on how well you use the process and what you learn. Therapy can also allow you a fresh perspective on different stressers and anxieties and improve your self esteem while boosting your self- confidence.

How do I choose a therapist?

Any therapist that you decide to see should be licenced in Israel. If you are interested in a particular therapist, meet with them to see if it's the right fit. Are they easy to talk to? Do you feel safe and comfortable? Can you confide in them? It's most important that you feel able to talk with your therapist about anything.

Can I come alone or with my significant other?

I work with both couples and individuals. If you are apprehensive about your relationship and your partner is unable or unwilling to come to counseling, you can still make changes on your own. I believe that a committed change in one aspect of a relationship can affect the overall relationship. However, in certain scenarios the only way to affect real change will be by engaging both partners in the relationship.

What is your cancellation policy?

While maintaning a healthy therapeutic setting is one of the foundations of the therapy process, I appreciate that we are all human with busy schedules. Therefore,  my general cancellation policy is that any session that is cancelled 12 hours before the scheduled time is not charged.

What days and times are appointments are available?

I have day and evening appointments available Sunday through Friday. I work in Jerusalem, Givat Shmuel, and Bnei Brak

Is therapy confidential?

Confidentiality in therapy is absolute. The only way an individual or couple can feel comfortable opening up in therapy is if they are certain that all conversations and interactions are held in the highest of confidence.

The only exception to this rule is that I must report to the authorities any suspected child abuse or if the client intends to harm him/herself or others.

How long does therapy take?

My sessions are for one hour, once a week. However, I occasionally find it neccesary to adjust the length and frequency of sessions to cater to the clients needs.

Regarding the length of therapy, it is completely dependant upon the complexity of the issues and the willingness of the client to engage in the therapeutic process. I have had clients who come for one session and I have clients who remain in therapy for multiple years. Ultimately, the decision is the client's.
